The general idea of snowflakes is that they are the little pieces that create a full-on debt snowball. This is where my snowflakes started, but I've expanded the thought. Snowflakes are the sparkly bits that come a random times and make our lives that much better...
Here are January's snowflakes:
Surveys: $20.90
Other: $135.48
The "Other" included the 3 Rs: recycling, rebates, and rewards (Amazon Visa & Live it With Charter). The oddball was my half of our UPS insurance money since they completely MUTILATED the Kitchenaid we sent to Billy's mom.
The final tallies for January are:
Total product: $337.79 Total OOP:$59.21
A Savings of... 82%
When all money earned and product gain are compared against money spent:
Total cash & prizes: $434.96
*The caveat is, of course, that none of our regular spending is entered into this equation. General groceries, bills, and the like are on their own budgets. The point of this little blog is to prove to myself that all my deal chasing is worth the effort. So far, I'm thrilled!
